Dreaming of a better e-bike conversion?

Evolve Bikes came from the simple desire to cycle to work - however, coming from the Pennine town of Halifax in Yorkshire, the only way to feasibly manage the 20-mile round trip was with an e-bike.

 

I looked at the e-bike market, and once I’d picked my jaw up from the floor began looking into conversions.  Between the kits from mystery manufacturers in China (with non-existent warranties), the frighteningly expensive and/or misleadingly priced, or ride-ruining front wheel motor kits–there was nothing which fit the bill.

 

I needed a kit which provided enough torque to conquer the hills, a natural ride that wasn't completely ruined by strapping a motor onto the front wheel and a battery that could go the distance.
